Phase 1: $1,000,000
will allow us to move the museum outside the gates in the vicinity of
Century Circle. A 12,000 square foot building, the same size as the
current museum, will be devoted to our most sensitive and valuable
assets. This will allow unfettered access for even casual visitors,
refurbish precious aircraft in the museum’s inventory and move them
to the new site. We will also develop and design educational
displays within the larger museum space that support and encourage
interest in STEM education.
Phase 2: An
additional $750,000 will allow us to build a second building of the
same size and accommodate additional aircraft as well as an
educational classroom, theater and administrative space.
Phase 3: $5,000,000
will allow us to add another 50,000 square feet of display space,
including site improvements and exterior airpark development. This
grant is being requested to fund the first phase of construction to
move the Air Force Flight Test Museum outside of the base security
gates.
We have been awarded a
matching grant by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in the amount of
$300,000 contingent upon our ability to secure gifts, contributions
and legally enforceable pledges in the amount of $690,000. Securing
this grant would allow us to achieve Phase 1. Please give today!
